The 'He Coulda Made Weapons' Rationale

According to advance accounts of Tim Russert’s kneepad interview with Bush tomorrow on Meet the Press, Bush has now ratcheted his rationale down from ‘Saddam was an imminent threat’ to ‘he coulda made weapons.’ I’m not making that up. Both Bush and Cheney are now reduced to saying the war was justified because Saddam could have made weapons. How pathetic. But I’m sure Timmy didn’t make W sweat at all, as this picture seems to indicate.

Update: In a purely "Truth Squad" sort of way, I am gratified that several outfits have now adopted the quick response tactic of pointing out Bush's lies shortly after he issues them. The best so far that I have seen today is the comprehensive rebuttal that John Podesta's Center for American Progress issued right after Bush lied to Russert and got away with it.
