Bush/Cheney On A Global Crusade

Just as things are deteriorating badly in Iraq because of the gross mistakes and their deaf ear to the aspirations of the Iraqis who do not want an occupying power that runs rampant through their streets, the Bush/Cheney reelection campaign has been sending letters out to potential contributors describing their global crusade against terrorism.

Back in 2001, when Bush spoke out about his "crusade", Europeans were shocked and appalled that he could be so insenstive to the sensibilities of the world and the Islamic world. At that time he said he regretted his words.

Now that Bush has shown that he thinks nothing of dashing the hopes of a viable state for the Palestinians and believes the answer to the troubles in Iraq is by crushing the insurgents in Fallojah and perhaps soon in Najaf, it seems that he doesn't mind sharing with the world he really believes he is on a crusade. Perhaps they were inspired by Mel's fantasy? What do you think they will do next to destabilize the situation further?
