Bush Gets Another Month Of Improved Jobs Figures

by Steve

The Labor Department this morning reported that the country added 288,000 more jobs in April, and revised the March previously-reported figure upward to 338,000. It is not known yet how many of these new jobs in April were part-time jobs, which were the bulk of the March increases. The largest gains in April were in the service and retail sectors, with very slight increases in construction and manufacturing, where only 21,000 new jobs were added in April. But at least it is a start.
