Berg's Family Has Documentation Of Son's Detention By US Forces

by Steve

Remember when Paul Bremer’s mouthpiece Dan Senor said yesterday that the American military never had custody of Nick Berg? Well, it appears the Bergs have some documentation that may cause problems for the Bush Administration.

"I have a written statement from the State Department in Baghdad ... saying that my son was being held by the military," Berg said. "I can also assure you that the FBI came to my house on March 31 and told me that the FBI had him in Mosul in an Iraqi prison."

Also, the CIA (the same guys who said that it was a “slam dunk” that Saddam had WMDs) said today that it was a “high probability” that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was the man who spoke on the tape and then bent down and beheaded Berg. Boy, he sure must have been nimble for a guy with a prosthetic leg. And I must admit that the murderer on the far right of the line in the video has a body type more consistent with a middle linebacker than a Middle Easterner. But then, al-Zarqawi wouldn’t even be here if George Bush had killed him when he had the chance, you know, like when Bush’s people blame Clinton for not getting Bin Laden when he had the chance? But wait, didn’t militants in Iraq claim that al-Zarqawi was killed two months ago?
