Is Edwards Still In The Hunt?
There seems to be nothing new to report on the running mate sweepstakes this morning, except for a brief meeting in the Capitol yesterday between Edwards and Kerry. The official line that the media is carrying is that Dick Gephardt and Tom Vilsack are the final two under consideration, yet Edwards was still doing solid work as a campaign surrogate in the South as late as last weekend. Note the welcome John McCain gave Edwards yesterday.
I am starting to come around to the observation that several of you made earlier that the talk about Gephardt and Vilsack is nothing but misdirection work, when it is entirely possible that Edwards is the guy.
