A study in contrasts:
Bush in Portland speaks before some 2000 fully vetted supporters with some 200 protesters shunted to a "free speech zone".
A chain-link fence topped with barbed wire and police in riot gear with batons separated the protesters from the school.
Kerry in Portland speaks before a crowd of 50,000.
Last Friday, in Portland's Waterfront Park, 50,000 of us met to hear John Kerry. Only a few score of policemen were on hand to direct traffic and keep the park from overflowing with people. Another world is possible.
Okay, it's your turn.
