For The Second Time In Two Days, A Bush Veto Threat Is Ignored

by Steve

Yes, itís early in the process, and yes, itís an election year, but today was the Houseís turn to ignore a White House veto threat. Not only is it surprising that the Denny Hastert/Tom DeLay House didnít show enough GOP discipline to stick with the president (22 GOP members voted with the Democrats), but the issue that prompted the ďup yoursĒ from the House was the Administrationís changes to overtime rules, as the House voted to prevent the Labor Department from implementing the new rules.

Tom the Hammer will be busy tonight.
