A Word On Your Comments
In my post, What Would Marion Michael Morrison Do?, I explained that I was shutting down comments on my posts. My co-posters here on The Left Coaster who have commented on my position lean toward keeping things the way they have been. Even The Perfessor chipped in some opinions, which I accept in the spirit he intends.
What I want to share with this post is all of the comments I've gotten from those who chose to write me. This is current as of the time I write this post. I have deleted their email addresses for their protection from spammers.

Trolls are boring and drive people away from comments anyway. Most of us want to read what you have to say, so shutting down the comments is just fine.

That is fine pessimist. I don't disagree with you at all. Good luck, keep posting and fighting the good fight!

I haven't been visiting leftcoaster long enough to know who's who, but I must say I'm disappointed that discourse has gotten so out of hand that you had to shut down your comment page. Disappointed only because I enjoy reading all that stuff (and I think it was there that I saw the Zell Miller as star trek monster pictures and that got me howling.) Keep up the good work...

At this point it's the right decision.

I don't blame you for shutting down comments. The Republican Party used to be decent before it was hijacked by Jesus freaks, tax cranks, and white-collar crooks. Now it's not decent. It will have to be overcome not by debate, but by force: industrial-strength PR, marketing, organization, etc. Keep on keepin' on, and thanks for the great blog.
Thanks in part to The Perfessor's comments, I have decided to modify my stand on comments. Some of you may have noted that I enabled comments on ...Miss Baghdad.... I did so as an experiment. I will return to this post at a later date to annouce the intent and result of this experiment once I close comments for archival.
But as for most posts, I will exercise my editorial control and not enable comments for the time being.
Thanks to all for your kind comments.
