With Indictment Pending, GOP Pushes A Rule Change To Help DeLay Keep His Position

by Steve

In a sure sign that Tom DeLay is about to be indicted by a Texas grand jury, the "moral values", law and order GOP is going to change the House rules tomorrow to allow indicted House members to retain leadership posts. Of course, what started this rule back in 1993 were GOP complaints about Democrat Dan Rostenkowski maintaining his post after an indictment. But now with the GOP in charge and parading their righteousness for all to see, it apparently is a perfect time for the GOP to check their ethics and shame at the door.
