The New Conquistadors

by pessimist

As if Bu$hCo doesn't have enough to deal with, there are signs that it is out to pick a fight in Columbia.

In a statement released by the Columbian government, claims are made that the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) was out to assassinate George Wanker Bu$h during his recent visit. This was apparently created from a prior statement FARC released which declared US troops to be legitimate military targets, because there was no publicly released statement calling for such an attack. There were also no incidents during the visit.

In Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, John Perkins relates details of US 'assistance' to the government of Ecuador, a neighboring country to Columbia, in its border war with Peru. he states that this trouble was fomented so that the Shell Oil Company knew which government is had to deal with once they confirmed oil deposits in the disputed region. It isn't unreasonable to assume that something similar is underway in Columbia right now.
