Powell Gets Blown Off By NATO Seeking Assistance In Training Iraqi Police

by Steve

In one of his last overseas trips to Europe as Secretary of State, Colin Powell got blown off trying to get NATO to do more in the training of Iraqi police forces. While his counterparts cheered him as a peer, they declined to provide any assistance to the Bush Administration in improving the situation on the ground in Iraq, with the Russians specifically saying that Iraq was too dangerous for them to invest or help out now.

Bush will visit Europe early next year with new Secretary of State Condi Rice in tow, hoping to achieve what Colin Powell could not.

Don't hold your breath, W.
