Bush wants to "reform" social security. Evidently, the trial balloon suggesting that we would charge it all to a future generation didn't go over all that well, because we continue to get new ideas about what can be done to fix the problem. Today's floated idea is that the upper cap on Social Security wages could be lifted so those making over 85K a year would continue to have taxes taken out. This is a fairer mechanism than others. But would Bush alllow himself to back this? And point two: although the tax would hit the wealthy, it still doesn't impose on those who don't have earned income. Is this something Bush can back?

Your turn now.
