Bush: Rummy "Doing A Really Fine Job", And "A Caring Fellow" To Boot

by Steve

At his morning press conference, Bush says that Rummy “is doing a really fine job” and is “a caring fellow.” That would come as news to the families of fallen American soldiers who got machine-signed letters of condolences from Rummy. But then, Bush knows first hand what it is to ask for the ultimate sacrifice from others but ignore the pain of loss that you caused. Bush still doesn’t do anything of consequence himself for the families of the dead, so why should we expect Rummy to do anything but model the despicable lack of concern shown by his boss?

As for Mr. “A Really Fine Job”, its amazing to see how Bush measures success in his subordinates when the security situation in Iraq has not improved in months, Iraqi troops are months away from being able to provide for their country’s own security, election workers are slaughtered in plain sight, and Bush himself says the insurgents are having an effect.

It’s great to be treated as liberators, isn’t it?
