Nighttime Precision-Guided Bombing Kills 14 Iraqis, Including 7 Children

by Steve

Following Soccerdad’s great post yesterday about what US forces really did to Fallujah back in November, we have more current evidence of ghastly errors that cannot be justified. Yesterday it was revealed that we bombed the wrong house in Mosul, killing 14 Iraqis including 7 children. In our precision guided attack, we now admit we hit the wrong house and are saying that we intended to search the house first. As discouraging as that thought is, it begs another question: if we really didn’t know what was in this house and wanted to search it first, then why did someone give the order to drop a precision-guided bomb on at 2:30 in the morning?

The retribution for this inexcusable mistake didn’t take long: a car bomb hit one of our convoys south of Baghdad, but when our forces struck back, we once again killed not insurgents, but police officers and civilians.
