State Department Report On Human Rights Abuses Tags Iraqis But Ignores Abu Ghraib
Condi Rice's State Department is patting itself on the back today for issuing a report taking the Iraqi interim government to task for their human rights abuses. We are told by the Bush Administration that this is an example of the administration calling them as they see them, and not shirking from holding people accountable for their transgressions, even when it was us who oversaw these transgressions.
And why should you ignore such self-serving blather from Foggy Bottom and the White House? Because the same report, while tagging the Iraqis for their problems, intentionally ignored the war crimes committed by Don Rumsfeld's Pentagon at Abu Ghraib and elsewhere in Iraq.
