This week will mark the 1500th death of a US soldier in Iraq. Tonight the tally stands at 1499 according to the Coalition Casualty Count. Lunaville points out that for every 500 US soldiers that have died since we've been in Iraq, the number of days it takes to reach that next benchmark drops.

Death Count Days to Reach
500
295
1000
242
1500
179

So, we come back to the question: how many more will die in this war before we finally recognize that we had already lost the war when the Bush administration decided to go in without sufficient allies and without a plan for the aftermath?

Your turn now.
