Italian Journalist Nearly Killed By American Forces After Being Freed By Iraqi Insurgents
So let’s get this straight: Iraqi insurgents free an imprisoned left-wing Italian journalist unharmed after she is held captive for a month. But as she is being driven to Baghdad airport under the watchful eye of our forces, her car is fired upon by our military, which kills one of her Italian Secret Service bodyguards and injures the journalist. And the Italians now rightly want some answers.
The woman survives a month with the insurgents but is nearly killed by us after she is freed.
Swell. Don’t our forces talk with their coalition partners, or is there a reason why we didn’t want her to leave the country?
