AP/Ipsos Poll Has Bush Approval Rating Down To 44%
The latest AP/Ipsos Poll out this morning has Bush’s job approval rating down to 44%, with 54% disapproving. The right track/wrong track figures are 38%/56%. The poll was based on a sample comprised of 48% of those who considered themselves or leaned Democratic, and 41% of those who considered themselves or leaned Republican, so there obviously is a Democratic bias to the poll. Yet the sample was weighted, so Gallup and others would tell us that this indicates that there is a swing to the Democrats at the time this poll was taken, which was through Wednesday night.
Which probably explains why Senate Republicans are looking for a way to distance themselves from Bush on Social Security right now.
