Jeffords Won't Run For Re-Election In 2006

The Associated Press is reporting that Vermont Independent Senator Jim Jeffords won't be running for re-election next year, apparently due to health concerns.

So I wonder what Bernie Sanders and Howard Dean are thinking this morning?

Update: Dean has already taken himself out of the running, staying committed to the DNC. As much as I am glad Dean is head of the party, having him in the Senate would have advantages as well.
