Yesterday there were a couple of interesting science stories. The most amazing was the announcement that the Ivory-billed Woodpecker had found in the swamps of Arkansas. This is exciting news since the Ivory-billed Woodpecker had been declared extinct in the United States in 1988.
And yesterday was also the 15th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope in space. Although the Hubble has taken some of the world's most incredible photos of galaxies and nebulas, its fate is uncertain as the repairs it needs are blocked by the tight budget and the decision that it was too dangerous to send astronauts to fix it via the shuttle.
