Is Iraq In The Beginning Stages Of A Civil War?

by Steve

Even if the Post and the New York Times won’t come out and say it directly, others are saying the words “civil war” and “Iraq” in the same sentence. After a week when the US military embarked on an aggressive campaign to route out fighters in western Iraq along the Syrian border, and suffered withering casualties doing it, after a respite since the much-touted January elections the pace of attacks and bombings in Iraq has skyrocketed.

But there is one thing Bush has succeeded at in Iraq, to add to his successes in Afghanistan: he has succeeded in turning Iraq into a haven for drug runners.

At least the corporate media is finally paying attention to the story from last week about the secret plan between the US and Great Britain to lead us into war with fixed intelligence.
