I joked a couple weeks back that Condoleeza Rice's appointment as Secretary of State might be a clever ploy by Laura Bush, Bush's other wife, to get Condi out of the country more often. It's a theory that makes still more sense looking at Rice's visit to the Iraqi war zone (does her smile look convincing to you?):

One freudian slip, and you get sent to the world's scariest trouble spot. Laura may look nice, but she's playing for keeps.
