Terri Schiavo Autopsy Shreds Any Remaining Credibility For Frist, Others On Right

by Steve

The long-awaited autopsy on Terri Schiavo was released today, and it proved that Schiavo was not abused by her husband before her collapse in 1990. It also ruled out a heart attack, and found that Schiavo’s brain was half the size of a normal brain at the time of her death, thereby undermining the best hopes of her parents that she could eventually recover with therapy.

In other words, the claims by her aggrieved parents, and the right-wing vultures that descended upon the Schindlers in a craven effort to politicize a family’s tragedy were wrong, and Michael Schiavo was correct in defending himself all along from these attacks.

Now how does this make Bill Frist look, who diagnosed Schiavo from thousands of miles away by looking at a videotape in his office at night?

"I question it based on a review of the video footage which I spent an hour or so looking at last night in my office," he said in a lengthy speech in which he quoted medical texts and standards. "She certainly seems to respond to visual stimuli."

And how does it make Frist look when it turns out that Schiavo was blind? What kind of president would he make when he is such a pathetic doctor? Probably about the same kind of president as a pathetic Texas GOP governor became.

How does this make any number of winger GOP senators look, who sided with the American Taliban on this case, and against the medical experts who were working on her case all along and were proved correct today?

How does this make the Wall Street Journal look, which helped the right wing nut media machine spread the smears against Michael Schiavo?

Maybe Joe Scarborough will shut the f*ck up the next time he wants to play doctor with a specialist who disagrees with him and the American Taliban. Maybe Fred Barnes and Sean Hannity will shut the f*ck up on this case from now on, but I doubt it.
