Too Dumb To Train

by pessimist

There are certain stereotypes that are applied to Red Staters which may or may not be applicable in reality. But one has to wonder just how bad it really is when a corporate executive - whose job it is to know about a region when the company he works for is looking to expand - openly states one of these stereotypes:

Ontario workers are well-trained. That simple explanation was cited as a main reason why Toyota turned its back on hundreds of millions of dollars in subsidies offered from several American states in favour of building a second Ontario plant.

Industry experts say Ontarians are easier and cheaper to train - helping make it more cost-efficient to train workers when the new Woodstock plant opens in 2008, 40 kilometres away from its skilled workforce in Cambridge.

"The level of the workforce in general is so high that the training program you need for people, even for people who have not worked in a Toyota plant before, is minimal compared to what you have to go through in the southeastern United States," said Gerry Fedchun, president of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association, whose members will see increased business with the new plant.

I guess that makes it official - Red Staters are so dumb they can't even do mind-numbing manual labor.

I doubt that Mr. Fedchun is a liberal or a Democrat, so live with it wrong-wingers. One of your own has revealed how they really think about you. You are only good for providing them the legal cover they need (The people selected us!) for their predations upon the American Way of Life - which we are celebrating today - as they take the country down for their own gain.

Aren't you proud of yourselves?
