Wednesday Night Katrina Update

A couple of Katrina updates tonight, and a slice of reader mail.

First, notice that Little Scottie got roasted by the White House media for a second straight day.

It’s good to see that Rummy enjoyed himself at a San Diego Padres game as Katrina was destroying New Orleans.

Here’s a picture of Bush being briefed by Max Mayfield of the National Hurricane Center on Sunday, who told him exactly how bad this would be for New Orleans, a day before he went off on his swing out to San Diego to ignore Katrina.

Nancy Pelosi laid it on the line today at a press conference when she repeated a conversation she had yesterday with Bush: He is "Oblivious, in denial, dangerous," In fact, the New York Times notes Thursday that the Democrats are getting their act together in a coordinated attack against the Bush Administration over their Katrina negligence and cover-up.

Remember the claim by Bush yesterday that he would investigate himself over the government’s Katrina response? Well today, Frist and Hastert said they would assemble a bicameral and bipartisan commission to investigate the Katrina response. That’s fine, except that no one had even talked with Harry Reid yet. Message to Dems: Don't play this game anymore; don't let any Dems serve on this whitewash effort.

Josh Marshall runs a piece with confirmation from NBC news anchor Brian Williams, of all people, that the Bush Administration not only doesn’t want any pictures of dead bodies from New Orleans, they don’t want the media in New Orleans either.

I think the people with the functional brains are getting a little tired of your constant display of stupidity and pure hatred for this great country of ours... so keep it up Stevey... assholes like you shed more light on the filth of the left than I can right now.
