Consumer Confidence Tumbles
Consumer confidence is tumbling in the wake of Katrina and higher energy prices. That should knock down consumer spending in advance of what may be a lean holiday shopping season. Note the comments from Ken Mayland of ClearView Economics, who had previously been a cheerleader for this economy.
