Why George Will's head exploded (sorta)

by eriposte

The more I read about Miers the more it becomes clear why the wingnuts are apoplectic on the Miers nomination.

The reason?

The information that has trickled out about Miers so far suggests that before she became a Bush-cultist, she had leanings that would disqualify her from today's Republican party, i.e., she used to be someone who might have even belonged to the almost extinct species otherwise known as "moderate Conservative".

Of course, after she became a Bush-cultist, all bets are off. After all, anyone with a sycophantic adoration of Bush can neither be termed "moderate" or "Conservative". That said, wingnuttia is clearly upset that her history is such that it would NOT make it unambiguously clear that she is a wingnut. That's the real problem.

If you want to know why I say that, take a look at the updates I posted today in my compilation "Who Is Harriet Miers?" (particularly, sections 6, 7, 9 and 10).

P.S. It is equally clear that she is a steadfast Bush supporter and that she may have been picked, as I said before, to further the unrelenting power grab in America by Bush and his corporate cronies.
