My parents live in a town with a pretty cruddy local newspaper, and they supplement it with the NY Times. I just wrote them:

I recommend that you cancel your Times subscription, and that you tell them it's because no paper with any sense of journalistic duty would sit for a year on a story about a President illegally ordering the NSA to spy on American citizens. I recommend that you tell anyone you know who subscribes to the Times to do the same. We don't need our "paper of record" colluding with the administration on the record's contents.

Tell everyone you know who subscribes why this kind of shit must not stand.
