Abramoff Plea Deal Was Handled By Career DOJ Prosecutors

I guess we should be heartened to know that the Abramoff plea deal was the work of career prosecutors inside the Justice Department, who have up until now resisted pressure from their political appointee bosses. The team leader of these prosecutors in fact cut his teeth by bagging dirty Bob Torricelli.

But note that these fine folks report to political hack Alice Fisher, and that the Justice spokesperson refused to comment on what role Abu Gonzales or the White House would play in the remainder of the Abramoff case or what they do with his cooperation.
