In Upset, Boehner Chosen To Be Majority Leader

by Steve

In a surprise and a slap at Tom DeLay, the House GOP caucus selected John Boehner as Majority Leader today on the second ballot, after Roy Blunt got more votes (110) on the first ballot than Boehner (79) and McCain's candidate John Shadegg (40), but not enough to win outright.

And in good news for Democrats pushing the culture of corruption angles, Boehner is just as tied in to the K Street Project as Blunt, and has his own K Street cabinet to be his pay-for-play policymaking infrastructure.
