House And Senate Republicans Want More Oversight Of Bush White House On NSA Issue
by Steve
I wrote on Thursday that the GOP talking points that the NSA spying scandal was nothing more than a partisan issue were dead. Saturday’s NYT confirms that after seeing Abu Gonzales give Congress the back of his hand Monday, there are more and more Senate and House Republicans who want to reassert some oversight over the Administration on national security.
Historians will note that Abu's bad appearance and Rove's mistake here were turning points in reestablishng the prerogative of Congress to conduct oversight of the executive branch.
