Over four years after 9/11, maybe the real question is this: why would we allow any foreign government to manage any of our ports of entry in this country? Just because it's good for business? Whose business? James Baker's and George H. W. Bush's?
Would the Bush Administration approve of a Middle Eastern government managing Logan Airport, Dulles, or JFK just because it was good for bidness, as Molly Ivins would say?
It's a simple question. And we better grapple with it now before someone else makes a similar play for West Coast ports.
