Media Labels 2006 Democratic Iraq War Candidates As "Single Issue", But Not GOP Evangelicals

Why is in that when Iraq war veterans return home to run as Democrats against Republicans in 2006, they are labeled by the media and the GOP as "single issue" candidates? Yet when the Religious Right takes over the Republican Party and the GOP runs such candidates on largely evangelical platforms, those candidates are not called single issue candidates by the same media?
