PlameGate Update

For those of you who want a Fitzgerald update, Chris Matthews told Imus this morning that it was possible that an indictment of Karl Rove could come today (it didn’t, at least publicly). Matthews likes to think he has sources inside the White House.

And Jason Leopold reported on TruthOut today that “sources” indicate that sometime earlier this week, Rove told Josh Bolten that he now expects to be indicted on a perjury charge, and when that happens, he will immediately resign. Leopold also reports that Patrick Fitzgerald may also indict Rove on an obstruction of justice charge as well. Both indictments would be under seal and not known for several days after they are handed down.
