Senate Stands With Bush, While House GOP Expresses Dismay Over Immigration Approach

As expected today, Bush got the support of the Senate for his immigration approach, when the first amendment from a Senate right-winger demanding a “security-first” approach was defeated on a 55-40 vote. And as expected, the GOP House expressed unhappiness with their own president. Democrats are in the right position on this: standing for progress along with the president, and eating popcorn while the GOP implodes.
