ARG Poll: Bush At 32%, Majority Feel Economy Will Be Worse Next Year
by Steve
How can Bush and the GOP escape a drubbing in November with results like these?
Among Americans registered to vote, 32% approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president and 61% disapprove. When it comes to the way Bush is handling the economy, 29% of registered voters approve of the way Bush is handling the economy and 65% disapprove.
A total of 75% of Americans rate the national economy as bad, very bad, or terrible, up from 67% in April, while 59% say the national economy is getting worse and 60% say the national economy will be worse a year from now.
When it comes to assessing their personal financial situations, 61% of Americans say their personal financial situations are getting worse and 54% say they expect to be worse off a year from now.
The Bush Administration and Wall Street tell us all the time that the economy is strong. And yet the public isn’t buying it. Perhaps after November they won’t buy a GOP congress any more either.
