You Don't NEED No Stinkin' Family Values

by pessimist

One of the GOP's favorite platofrm planks is 'family values'. but let's be clear for whom such a plank is really for - wealthy WASP Republicans. It isn't for anyone else. If you aren't rich, tough. Get a job, slacker! If you are single, too bad! You shouldn't have indulged that stud you had your eye on. If you aren't American, ...

Iraq's prime minister said on Tuesday his patience was wearing thin with excuses from U.S. troops that they kill civilians by "mistake" and said he would launch an investigation into killings at Haditha last year.

He better look more closely at the excuse that will be offered for this travesty:

U.S. forces killed two Iraqi womenone of them about to give birth — when the troops shot at a car that failed to stop at an observation post in a city north of Baghdad, Iraqi officials and relatives said Wednesday. Nabiha Nisaif Jassim, 35, was being raced to the maternity hospital in Samarra by her brother when the shooting occurred Tuesday. Jassim, the mother of two children, and her 57-year-old cousin, Saliha Mohammed Hassan, were killed by the U.S. forces, according to police Capt. Laith Mohammed and witnesses.

Maybe that Iraqi family should be glad that this child won't have to suffer the 'alarming malnutrition' that is endemic in Iraq:

A total of four million Iraqis, roughly 15 per cent of the population, were in dire need of humanitarian aid including food, up from 11 per cent in a 2003 report, the survey of more than 20,000 Iraqi households found.

Family values?

Don't make me choke!
