Iran Ready To Resume Talks

by Steve

The Iranians responded to yesterday’s announcement that the six nations would only ask Iran to suspend enrichment during negotiations with an apparent acceptance today of resuming talks. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s comments today that Iran wants to renew negotiations “to resolve misunderstandings in the international arena,” and that Iran has no plans to retreat from “developments and achievement of advanced technology” fall short of his defiant insistence several weeks ago of unimpeded enrichment. Yesterday’s announcement by the six nations that Iran could pursue uranium conversion during the talks, and could resume enrichment after the conclusion of successful negotiations would seem to fall under Ahmadinejad’s definition of “developments and achievement of advanced technology.”
