Read emptywheel’s latest summary of the Fitzgerald case over at DailyKos, which concludes that the fundamental truth of his investigation is that Dick Cheney authorized Libby and strategized with him to leak Plame's identity.

How likely do you think it is that Bush would pardon Scooter after the midterms and before the start of Libby's trial in January February?

And most of the same folks who are calling the New York Times treasonous and demanding harsh measures will look the other way and support Cheney and Libby's exposure for purely political purposes of an intelligence asset that was tracking Iran's nuclear program.
