Grand Ayatollah Al-Sistani Gives Up Hope
by Steve
The Brits won't be long for southern Iraq after this: Grand Ayatollah al-Sistani, angry that the al-Maliki government failed to obtain a withdrawal timeline from the Bush Administration, and upset that everyday Shiites want revenge rather than a united Iraq, is throwing in the towel. Be afraid, be very, very afraid. The al-Maliki government made its choice between maintaining the Bush Iraq party line for the midterms, and keeping the country together, and will now reap the consequences.
