U.S. Election 2006: Progressive State Blogs (tentative list)

Background: This is a tentative list of generally state-focused, active progressive blogs that I compiled for my own benefit. The choice of blogs here is mine and mine alone. I will update the list as I see fit based on the quality and originality of content, frequency of posting and extent of state-focused Election 2006 coverage that I see in these (and potentially other state-focused) blogs. To be on my list, the blog needs to have a reasonable frequency (at least several posts a week at the minimum) of state-focused posts that relate to Election 2006 and have a reasonable amount of original, quality content (as opposed to "cut and paste" or mere citations of content in media or other blogs). If a blog is not in this list today, it doesn't mean that it will never be in this list in the future (e.g., several prominent bloggers in various states have limited state coverage and I do not include such blogs here). If a blog is in this list today, it doesn't guarantee that the blog will necessarily have the kind of coverage I am looking for in the future. Hence, I reserve the right to remove blogs from the list or add blogs to the list depending on the quality and nature of their coverage. [Feel free to let me know if you run or know of a state-focused blog that you think is good. I cannot promise I will add the blog to my list but I will certainly take a look at it to see if it meets my expectations. In general, I strongly encourage state-focused bloggers to form group blogs so that you can combine forces to produce the best content in each state and become a much more potent force in your state.]

2006 Candidate Websites/Links: My goal here is to bring more visibility to good progressive state blogs, send them readers from different states, help make it easier to find interesting state-related election news, and help indirectly in building a 50-state progressive alternative "media". So, I'm not including candidate webpage links here (such a list would be too vast anyway). For links to candidate webpages, check out the outstanding AFL-CIO Political Portal (Incidentally, MyDD's House, Senate and Governor forecast pages are an excellent reference to some of the most important races in Election 2006).
