CNN And MSNBC Had Better Nights Than Fox

by Steve

I don’t know about you, but I spent Election Night switching back and forth between MSNBC and CNN. I was impressed with both. The Chris Matthews/Keith Olbermann pairing worked better than I expected, and MSNBC benefited from having not only theirs but also NBC’s resources behind them. CNN for its part was lively and well informed all night, despite my ongoing rejection of Wolf Blitzer as a lead anchor.

It appears that both CNN and MSNBC had good ratings that night, and in some time periods, as the bad news came in from winger land, both networks ran even or better than Fox, which as the CJR noted, didn’t put any real effort into the evening, despite having buckets of money to do so.
