Warner and Levin Cut A Deal On Surge Resolution

by Steve

Warner and Levin reached a compromise late today on a bipartisan resolution against the surge. In exchange for Levin coming out against cutting off the funds for the troops, Warner agreed to drop his support for any additional troops in Iraq. It is now more likely that a bipartisan resolution against the surge will pass the Senate with enough votes to fend off a GOP filibuster.
