Pentagon Rushes Surge Troops To Iraq Without Normal Training

by Steve

Training? Training? Who needs training? Your Caesar commands you to go now!

Rushed by President Bush’s decision to reinforce Baghdad with thousands more U.S. troops, two Army combat brigades are skipping their usual session at the Army’s premier training range in California and instead are making final preparations at their home bases.
Some in Congress and others outside the Army are beginning to question the switch, which is not widely known. They wonder whether it means the Army is cutting corners in preparing soldiers for combat, since they are forgoing training in a desert setting that was designed specially to prepare them for the challenges of Iraq.

Boy, that silly John Murtha is really unsupportive of the troops isn’t he? How dare he suggest that the troops be trained, equipped, and rested before they deploy! We should ask that good American, Democratic representative and Blue Dog Democrat Jim Matheson of Utah why this is acceptable, since he pissed all over Murtha's proposal because it may "hamstring resources and commanders on the ground."

I mean, doesn't Murtha know that these troops sacrificial lambs are needed in Iran Iraq right away?
