Waxman Will Delve Into Plame Case

by Steve

Henry Waxman will hold a hearing on the Plame case, and has asked Patrick Fitzgerald for his input. What will Waxman dive into?

..(w)hether White House officials followed appropriate procedures for safeguarding the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson. At the hearing, the Committee will receive testimony from Ms. Wilson and other experts regarding the disclosure and internal White House security procedures for protecting her identity from disclosure and responding to the leak after it occurred. The hearing is scheduled for Friday, March 16.

Waxman wants to hear from Fitzgerald on the "policy and accountability questions" his investigation raised on the White House's handling of classified information. It should be an interesting hearing, and fully within the purview of Waxman's committee. I'm sure he'll wonder why Karl Rove still is running around the White House with a security clearance.

Update: Plame has confirmed that she will testify.
