Open Thread - The FOIA edition
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) turns 40. Yet, our ability to get accurate information about our government has been greatly stressed under Bush. Nevertheless, this act continues to be one of the most effective ways we citizens and the journalists (in the media or in the independent blogosphere) have to gather and report critical information that a citizen can use to help determine how they might want to vote, or, how they can help set direction for the country by writing to congress, lobbying their representative, etc. Despite Bush, the faithful act continues to be of service.
Here are some tips that you can use if you want to find out something about our government that has not been made public.
