Remember those claims from Iranian president Ahmadinejad several weeks ago that his country was now operating 3,000 centrifuges, backed up by a breathless, unsourced scoop from ABC's Brian Ross that Iran was closer to a bomb than we thought?

Forget it. In fact, Robert Gates is now saying that diplomacy works.
