McClatchy has dug up another one of Karl Rove's vote suppressing zombies. Hans von Spakovsky started out as the political appointee Bush put in charge of the Voting Rights Section after learning his craft suppressing black votes in Georgia. And when he had done sufficient damage in the DoJ, he was appointed to the Federal Election Commission in a Bush recess appointment in 2005 and is now scheduled for a confirmation hearing in June. The Senate needs to force Bush to nominate people who believe in protecting a citizen's right to vote, and not someone who has been part of Karl Rove's multi-year voter suppression conspiracy. No more Rove clones allowed near our elections.
Here's a Monday open thread.
