Bush Warns Of World War III

by Jeff Dinelli

I want to set up sort of an Open Thread for you to weigh in on President Bush's unbeliveably stupid press conference yesterday, wherein he actually declared to the world that a nuclear-armed Iran would lead to World War III, while at the same time Russian President Vladimir Putin denounced Bush's tough stance, and said he would in no way support any military action against Iran.

Bush led the military into Iraq under false pretenses, saying that God told him to do it, and something Keith Olbermann said last night got the paranoid side of me to start thinking. In the "Left Behind" book series, which Bush is a fan of, Satan is in the form of the leader of the United Nations, which would explain our unilateral military actions, and armageddon takes place in the Middle East. Is he crazy enough to actually try to bring about his Biblical beliefs?

"We've got a leader in Iran who has announced that he wants to destroy Israel," he said. "So I've told people that, if you're interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon."

Iran denies it is building a nuclear weapon, insisting it is seeking to develop nuclear power generation, and refuses to obey U.N. demands to halt uranium enrichment.

There were other crazy incidents that occured during that press conference: ignoring or laughing at reporters, refusing to define the word "torture" for Newsweek's Richard Wolff, etc. What did you all see that outraged you? It was not a feel-good moment realizing we're stuck with this guy for another, what, 15 months?
