Bush's Water Bill Veto Overriden

The Senate followed the House's lead earlier this week and rammed the water bill down Bush's throat by overriding his veto. Nearly 80 senators went against Bush on this bill and rejected his claim that the bill was too expensive, two years after Katrina.

Keep in mind that Bush opposed this bill because it called for spending $8 billion more - over the next 20 years - than he wanted to spend. That's the amount he wastes in Iraq every month. Two years after Katrina, eight billion over the next two decades was too much for him to spend here at home.
